I don’t quite remember when I came across the Kevin O’Shea design studio, but I do remember being stopped in my clickety-click internet surfin’ tracks. Kevin a fellow New Yorker, is decked out with a B.F.A. in Interior Architecture from the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design – Ceramics? His hobby turned Etsy business! I find his work delicate, detailed and thoughtful – the complexity and beauty of it makes me smile. I hope you like it too.

Blossom Vase
Undeniably gorgeous – look at the delicate petals that make up this gorgeous vase. I am in a serious ‘dinner table styling’ craze right now, and I can see this being part of a great centerpiece at a backyard dinner with friends. Pick it up for $75.

Carbon Soup Bowls
There is something very earthy and rustic about these bowls, the details of the elongated handles has such character and practicality. The come as a set of 4 for $70, run don’t walk here to nab them.

Swan gravy boat
How did someone not think of this sooner? The swan gravy boat comes in both black or white – it invokes memories for me – sitting around the dinner table with the fam, gravy was the thing that could make or break a good roast dinner! Delicately crafted, I cannot believe this thing is dishwasher safe! I would advise to clean it by hand…isn’t it lovely? Certainly something Anthropologie or some such should consider picking up. It retails in Kevin’s etsy store for $55.

Grilles Low Mugs
Kevin’s design studio also specialises in Interior design, so it’s no surprise that his ceramics also have a structural and architectural quality to them. Take for example the Grilles Mug – there are clear signs of the Chrysler Building, chain link fences and wrought iron railings in the designs. Made with a clear crackle glaze these mugs will gently patina over time for that lovely vintage look that cannot be rushed. Priced at $15 each – they would make a welcomed addition to any kitchen cupboard and breakfast coffee ritual.
